Charlotte has over 20 years experience in both medical research and clinical nutrition. Having previously worked as a nutritional epidemiologist at Edinburgh University studying dietary factors associated with chronic disease, Charlotte decided on a career change after the birth of her first child. Instead of researching what people ate and its effects on their health, she resolved to help people improve their health and wellbeing by advising them on what to eat. She undertook her clinical training at the University of West London and has a BSc in Nutritional Therapy.
Charlotte is a full member of BANT (British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy) and IFM (Institute of Functional Medicine) and is registered with the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council) requiring her to abide by their strict code of practice and ethics. She is also fully insured to practice.
Charlotte is passionate about food and firmly believes that what you eat has a profound effect on health and wellbeing. Given her background in scientific research and systematic reviews, she is an advocate of evidence based medicine and will only use specific dietary recommendations for which there is sound scientific evidence. She regularly attends specialist conferences and post-graduate lectures designed to update and expand her knowledge in the field of nutrition and health. When she is not practicing nutritional therapy, Charlotte still keeps her hand in medical research as a Cochrane Reviewer at the University of Edinburgh.
