
However I managed not to give in – instead went for a brisk walk up Blackford Hill to stave off the cravings and blow out the cobwebs, followed by a Liver Cleanse smoothie of carrots, celery, beetroot and broccoli sprouts (sounds disgusting on paper but was actually quite good!). Have definitely learnt a lesson or two here: 1) having 'a night off' has consequences – both physically and mentally, it is so easy just to slip again the next day, and 2) that getting back on track takes real will power but that it can be done, plus 3) try to avoid big celebrations / boozy nights out until the detox programme is over!
